Looking back, looking forward

This time last year I quoted Einstein:

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. ~ Einstein

Really, I couldn't have found anything more apt for this year.  The main thing I learnt in 2012 was indeed to live for today, for you never do know what tomorrow will bring.  Today would have been my husband's birthday.

I've learnt how good friends are.

Looking back through my huge numbers of photos taught me something else too - that I take photos with the intention of sharing them and never do.  I visited a number of places that could easily have posts of their own so, hoping for tomorrow, I will produce those posts:

La Musée de la Grande Guerre (Meaux)

Vierzon, an unlikely town

Palais de Jacques Coeur in Bourges

Santiago de Compostela

I've also learnt to be more careful with backing up.  There are undoubtedly some gaps where there shouldn't be gaps.

And hoping for tomorrow, I look forward to visiting the friends and family who have reached out to me so I'm hoping to visit Hampshire and Dorset, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and eventually Sri Lanka.  Maybe not all in this coming year, but I now believe in taking opportunities as they present themselves.

With each sunrise we start anew

I hope that all of you, my friends, find 2013 presents you with the opportunities you hope for.

Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.  ~Joseph Addison

    1. I have told my sister in Canada that I can't possible go there until winter is definitely finished and done with.
