I am glad someone figured it out, because I didn't know what the dials were. I tried to do thirteen tulips in my dooryard--yellow like yours. But there are only twelve of them there.
@JC, thanks! @Katney, probably most people have gone over to digital timers, but we haven't :) @Karen, you are so right! It took me all evening to find a legible postmark showing 13. I had to go through almost my entire postcard collection :) @Heather, thanks!
They don't have those dials over here in the us. you heat is managed by a thermostate, and its manually operated. I miss being able to only have it one when I need it. But oh well.
Tulips are my favourite flower, and I love that photo of them.
Wow, you say it was tricky, but you managed very well - as usual I might add. These are really good thirteen photos. Very creative. I think I've would have had much problems with it. Good thing I didn't play, I just stopped by to say Hi :-)
Okay. I'm going to stick my toe gingerly in the water here and make sure I keep a civil tongue in my head, and gently remind my good friend that she still hasn't explained why in the world the thermostat is turned all the way down to 13.
And has anyone besides myself noticed that when this Caroline person makes a comment it is always preceded by a "comment deleted by author" item? This happens with her a lot wherever you see her comment. I wonder if her fingers are really that trembly and trigger-happy, or if she is just in a hurry to be on her way. Just askin... :)
PS-Hi Caroline! See you over where you belong later, ok?
I think I did explain somewhere, but never mind, here we are again:
It isn't a thermostat, it's a timer, and it uses the 24 hour clock.
It doesn't appear that anyone noticed the original comment, except me of course. I remember it very well because, you see, I don't have long rambling comments very often.
So....you've set your alleged timer for 13 seconds. Exactly what were you cooking a. ? Some of those delicious mushe pea things--where you microwave them for 13 seconds and then throw them away and get some chicken?
They are not BOTH timers, a.
You are just being disruptive again and you know it.
Tricky -- really? Yet you managed to come up with not one but four photos for this entry! ;b
ReplyDeleteI love the central heating dials - I have one just like your first photo so I recognised it straight away!
ReplyDeleteGood shots for the 13 theme. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDelete@YTSL, ah, but I had to think a very long time :)

Or maybe you were just timing yourself to see how long you could go without making a sarcastic remark to a friend? And your record is 13 seconds?
ReplyDeleteI REALLY don't know why I take this kind of abuse from you little a.
You wear me out.
Doesn't seem like you had too hard a time with the theme... you ended up with some great shots! :-) Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteOriginal idea for the theme! And yellow flowers are beautiful!
