It was a dark day yesterday, one of those days when things go wrong, and the weather lives up to it. But one bright point was that I ended up visiting the Sir Harold Hillier gardens where they were having the annual Art in the Garden exhibition. There I found the following two dark bronzes in the undergrowth.
I'd love to have the sort of garden which would accommodate a piece of art like this one, half-hidden amongst the bushes.
This one makes me feel rather chilly (you can tell what the weather is like here), but it is equally beautiful.
Finally when the sun was going down, and the skies were darkening, there was the first hint of blue sky between the dark clouds.

Great shots A. I did not know about the Sir Harold Hilier gardens before. I feel a trip towards Romsey coming on. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful gardens! And very dramatic skies. We have had horrible storms here over the last few days.
Have a good weekend.
Lovely photos in a lovely garden :)
I would love a dark sculpture in my garden. :)
Happy weekend!
The gardens are well worth a visit jams, at any time of the year.
Sorry to hear of the storms Pat, so it's much the same as here.
Thanks Julie!
Yes ECL, it would be lovely, wouldn't it.
Those bronzes are really beautiful! They seem so peaceful.
I just love the bronzes; the only other time I have seen sculpture out doors "in the wilds" as it were was Near Shawhead, near Dumfries in South West Scotland. I remember a Henry Moore, a Rodin and someone else whose name escapes me now (Shame on me).
They were on an estate and you could see them from the country road, but couldn't go up close to more than one or two. Now at least one is completely hidden in woodland.
I have a photograph of younger son on Rodin's John the Baptist.
Sacrilege!
LOVE the dark sculpture. Great photos.
Mine's posted. Stop by if you can. You can see a dark sinister creature. [kidding of course] Have a super weekend.

Those are lovely bronze sculpures. They have that haunting, chilling quality about them. I enjoyed ---
Love the first garden lady! And those skies are simply fabulous!
Enjoyed looking at the works of art created by humans but also by nature. :)

How beautiful...I received my first piece of garden art this summer from visiting friends. It's a heron and I love it. I put it under some trees in my bark-mulched area that I refer to as my "forest." Well, it seems like that to the grandchildren, anyway. :D Come on over to visit!
