And the news is.....

... I've lost my job.

The writing has been on the wall for a while, but it could have come at a better time, from the point of view of finding something else.  It was always a risk, I knew that when I started in January, but I had hoped it would last longer.

Ah well, onward and upward.....

  7. Hi A. --

Sorry to hear about the job loss but it might well be an opportunity for better things to come your way. In the meantime, hope you get in some rest and play and don't overly stress over what surely will be a temporary situation for you.

  8. I'm so sorry. There's never a good time to be out of work, but it tends to be worse in the run up to Christmas.
I'm with the others - I'm sure you'll find a job before too long. Just take it easy and try not to stress too much.

  9. Commiserations - expected or not, it must still be an unpleasant experience. Good luck with the search for another job.

  12. I'm sorry to hear it, too. Even when something like that is expected (or at the very least not surprising), it still is difficult news. I hope that finding a new job goes well for you.

  15. It has been too short, indeed. I hope you'll find a new one rather quickly. Good luck.

  16. Thank you all for your sympathy and very kind comments. It's been pretty depressing, I can't deny that, but I believe the time has come for a complete rethink. I'm not really expecting to find a new employer but instead I'll head in the direction of being self-employed. It's early days yet but I'm already exploring several avenues, and at least that keeps me out of mischief.
Et merci à toi Pablo, pour la mention à Mon Blog de Fille!

  17. Being self employed... it's a good chance to try it out now. Sometimes we need to be pushed by such sad happening to try ourselves!

    Good luck and take care!

  19. Awww, bugger. I hope something comes up soon though, and that it's a change for the better (in line with this blog's name, after all) whether you thought you needed it or not.

  20. I think bugger hits the nail on the head Catherine! As Ana and Max say too, it may push me in a better direction.

  21. So sorry A, but it will give you more to write about in your blog. Life is always changing and evolving and so will yours, you will see that another wind will be blowing in your direction.
