PhotoHunt: plastic
This theme came up just over 18 months ago when I complained about plastic bags. I'm starting to win the battle of plastic bags but plastic as a whole remains a problem.
It seems to be everywhere you turn. Where we live in the UK, very little plastic is accepted for recycling, and we hear too that the economic situation has made recycling no longer cost effective. When you think that all plastic ever created is still in existence unless it's been incinerated, has any progress been made, I wonder?

I thought of my clothes pegs too, I like your shot and I share your concern...
ReplyDeleteI too have heard of the economic situation making it too expensive to recycle, etc. So sad -- being green shouldn't be equated with being economically unviable.
ReplyDeleteColorful, very colorful. I want some of those clothespins!!
ReplyDeleteMy Plastic Photo is found HERE
SNAP!
ReplyDeleteThough yours are on a colourful clothesline.
I prefer my wooden pegs.
I really like that first shot, very creative and colorful. My family uses a lot of plastic bottle too. I'm just glad we can recycle most of them.
ReplyDeletegreat clothes pin shot. i caught a greenovate show from england this week where the homeowners put up wire panels and filled them with plastic bottles to use as a privacy fence.....maybe we just need to become more creative.
ReplyDeletelots of righteous outrage on Photohunt this week
ReplyDeleteA great contribution to the theme A. so collarful :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm always fighting off the plastic bags. I use the reusable bags you buy, buy my dh never does. I refuse to simply toss them, but finding the recycling box in the grocery stores can be a challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou are right.. too much plastic in a throw away society. We will have to return to using glass and go back to a more frugal way of life. Mine is up here.
ReplyDeleteToo much plastic in our society... even smiles are plastic these days. haha....
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments. It seems an insoluble problem, in more ways than one. :)
ReplyDeletePERFECT! I love what you came up with. So clever. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteI played too! I'm just running behind in visiting others. Come on over.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Those clothespins bring back memories of when I was a child and I would hang the clothes to dry for my Mom with plastic and wooden clothespins. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeletePlastic bags have taken over the world. What to do?
