PhotHunt: lick

Of course the most obvious picture would have been photos showing our cat licking but he has been totally lacking in any co-operative spirit since our house move, so I've had to look elsewhere.


Cars on a snowy motorway/autoroute in France, some going at a fair lick, or lickety-split.



A small sheet of British definitive stamps, all of which need to be licked before being put on an envelope.  I wish they produced more self-adhesive ones.



An upturned boat on the beach, waiting for a lick of paint.

    I love the choices you came up with. That boat is very appealing to me even if it does need a lick of paint. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!

    Very Clever. I think you covered most of the uses of lick and did it well. You certainly licked me in that part of the theme.

    I like the boat, too. Here (off to the left of the UK), to lick means to beat someone up. I'm glad you didn't get a picture of that. I haven't licked stamps in a while. Don't miss it, though. A delightful post. :)

    Try rubbing some fish oil on the spot you want the cat to lick.
