PhotoHunter: pink

I wouldn't say pink was one of my favourite colours, but you do find some lovely natural pinks in nature. The following are plants I saw when I was out on a walk recently.

But when I start looking at cultivated flowers the pinks look too bright and garish to my eye.

The last flower is a lily. I wish I hadn't noticed that. Lily the pink.

We'll drink a drink a drink
To Lily the pink, the pink, the pink
The saviour of the human race
For she invented medicinal compound
Most efficacious in every case.

A song popular in the late 60s which you can hear if you really must. I don't advise it: you'll never be able to forget it.

Just look what it's done to me!

Me either....pink just isn't a good color for me as with you. But wowzers! The flowers are beautiful. I'll pass on the P B tho.

The flowers are beautiful and you made me laugh with lily the pink. I remember it well enough not to add to the sound track in my head. Have a great weekend.

I always thought that song was about Lydia Pinkham's solution.

pink is one of my least favorite colors, and it's all over the place right now because of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I agree with you about the cultivated vs wild color. The pepto bismol? ewwww

Pepto is what I think of when I see "pink", ick. Love the walk pictures though. :)

I love the Pepto Bismol on the spoon with it overflowing, running off the bottom of the spoon. I love how soothing Pepto Bismol is and I really like that you thought of it for this week's prompt.

Thank you once more for beautiful pictures. Wish you hadn't mentioned the song - can't get that tune out of my head.

I am certainly not a "pink" person either. You have some great nature shots here. And love the pepto!!!

Happy Weekend.

Hahaha, your Photo Hunt entry this week made me laugh and was very enjoyable. Re Pepto Bismol: I tend to prefer the chewable tablet version...maybe because it somehow seems less pink! ;b

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. I'm glad you like the wild(ish) flowers and some of you even liked the Pepto Bismol:)

janeway, you are quite right, it is about Lydia Pinkham. It was just word association that got me there. I know what you mean about the pink everywhere. I just couldn't bring myself to join that.

Sorry to those of you who are now trying to forget Lily the Pink. I've made you suffer along with me :)

An excellent essay on pink - which I do not favor too.

I only like pink when it's part of nature, then it is a beautiful color. I loved all your photos. I do hate Pepto Bismo - it gives me a stomach ache!!! *S*
Happy Weekend

*cack* Loved the ending and the song. I'm the same, pink is not up there for me.

The Pepto Bismol is a different take.
Going around Photo Hunt, my first time to see something pink aside from flowers and dresses.

Are the two last pictures for Halloween ?? brrrr ! I prefer by far the pink flowers !

Funny you should mention Lily the Pink, as I was thinking about it in the shower the other day.

It's ironic that Mike McGear's only hit song should have a two-chord accompaniment (tonic - dominant) like his brother Paul's biggest hit "Mull of Kintyre".

I suppose it shows that you can never underestimate the taste of the Great British Public. :-)

Such a lot of comments! Thank you all so much. It's suprising to me that there are quite so many of you who don't care for pink either.

Dr Brown - thinking about it in the shower? Too Much Information:D

A.: Voici une blague alsacienne:

"D'après les derniers recherches, il semble que 80% des femmes chantent quand elles sont sous la douche alors que 20% se masturbe.

Et tu sais ce qu'elles chantent?..."

A. said...

Je n'ai aucune idée. Je ne sais pas si j'ose demander .... :) Je demanderai quand-même

Dr Andrew Brown said...

"Alors tu dois faire partie des 20%!"
