Have never been to Rome but got the feeling from art history lessons -- now validated by your photos -- that it's the kind of place with lots of beautiful things that are bound to catch the eye. :)
I do have still more photos. It is an incredible city, but exhausting. I hadn't appreciated quite how large it was, and I was preoccupied with "so much to see, so little time". Unlike may other cities, the main sights aren't gathered together in an old centre, but spread out all over the place. My abiding memory will be seeing amazingly old buildings, or even fragments, cheek by jowl with more modern architecture.
I MISS Rome. I LOVE Rome.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing the pics - I laughed at the creative parkng.
Absolutely astonishing.
ReplyDeleteWish I could express it in Latin.
Btw. Sorry for not visiting and commenting your excellent blog for a while. I can explain.
A I haven't visited Rome but it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh with the parking shot. Just the same here if there is a gap someone puts a motorcycle in it!
We just move them to get the truck out.
Rome is one of my European capital favourite you know and in this pics you have captured the majestic and picturesque atmosphere so well.
ReplyDeleteMy fave is the Spanish Stairs :-)

ReplyDeleteAlways wanted to visit Rome, thanks to you I have at least a taste of it.
