PhotoHunt: upside down

On holiday in a hilltop village last May, we were treated to an unexpected air display. Apparently the plain below is a convenient place to practise, to the locals' dismay. We, though, felt sure the show was put on just for us.

I'm quite fortunate to have found these shots from a backup. I'm having some computer difficulties at the moment.

If you'd like to join in and find other other players, go and visit TNchick's site.

  1. Everyone gets a free show? How wonderful. I have never been to one of these.

  2. Great shot. Aeroplanes always flew right through our heads over here too and yes, it sometimes is a nuisance to us. Have a nice weekend. CY

  3. @magiceye, thank you!

@ettarose, it's free but not an "official" show - they were just practising. Mind you, they wouldn't need to make too many mistakes.

@CY, true, if you have aeroplanes overhead all the tinme, it must be very annoying. The noise is quite something.

  4. It's a long time since I have seen an air show of any kind! Unless you count the helicopters that fly round the coastal area here nearly every weekend! These photos are wonderful!

  5. Oh, I can relate to the computer problems! A couple of weeks ago overnight my computer decided it could no longer recognize photo files off the camera. What a hassle. Glad you found the backups, these are great shots, unique depictions of the theme.

  6. Hope your computer feels better.

    Great shots!

Here's mine... kinda wordy today. I didn't want to go on a trapeze bar and I have no pics of mountains. :S

  7. I had a similar experience on a visit up a mountain near Geneva. Unfortunately, those were the pre-digital camera days -- and haven't converted those pictures to digital yet!

  11. Very good shots. We will be having the Blue Angels show here in San Francisco in a few weeks. They sometimes scare me when they fly so close to rooftops and bridges. They are spectacular to watch though.

  13. Thank you all for your kind words. My computer remains sick. Well, more accurately, dead.
