After the storm

We've had some terrible weather over the last day or two - heavy rain and gale force winds.  It has eased for the moment, but we're being threatened with a return soon.  I'm only glad we're not attempting to cross the Channel.  The Eurotunnel option is looking more and more attractive.

  1. You know the ol saying, red sky at night, beautiful next day! Sure is a purty picture!

  2. If a storm could create an aftermath photo like this then I am all for that storm.

  3. I assume its a sunset, however to pick up on an earlier theme it could also be a "shepherds warning" if taken in the morning.

    Very tranquil.

  4. Amazing! I have never seen the sky in such a red shade! Hope it is not a bad sign.

  5. What a beautiful sky after the storm. We have that here too -- albeit in a different way. I.e., rain is very good at washing away air pollution, I find.

  6. Thank you all. It was a sunset, and I was brought up to believe "A red sky at night, shepherds' delight". Yes, the next day dawned as beautifully as anyone could wish. We only occasionally get skies as red as that, and when we do I'm out there taking shot after shot. :)

  7. "Red sky at morning, sailor take warning." But I'm not sure what a sailor could do one way or the other. But what an incredible red sky! I am a sucker for sky and cloud photos. I love them. Sky photos are like moods. Not that kind of sucker!

  8. It was an incredible colour, and I assure you, not enhanced. It happens only once in a while but magnificent when it does. Moods, yes, sometimes, though I find it very uplifting to see an interesting sky. Except during the storm. :)
